JOB PURPOSE |
For a newly established four-year project named “Youth Improvement Tanzania” (May 2023 – April 2027), KF-TZ collaborates with two other INGOs. The objective of the new project is to improve the living conditions and prospects of young people in rural and urban areas in four Tanzanian regions through the implementation of impact-oriented activities. The project combines the three INGOs’ expertise, experience, and networks to provide holistic support and unleash synergetic potential.Â
The prime direct beneficiaries of the project are 50,000 young men and women between 15 and 30 years of age. They will be both in-school and out-of-school and will reside in both rural and semi-urban areas. This age range includes youth at very different transitional points in their lives and the project aims to support their individual as well as professional career.
- train youth in logistics, supply chain management, entrepreneurship, and job readiness related to agro- and health logistics; and
- deliver consultancy services in order to improve agro-logistics at the farm level and strategic and operational improvement of food supply chains
SCOPE OF FUNCTION / KEY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ |
Training and Evaluation
- Design, build, and create logistics and supply chain content to be used in trainings with the primary target group (youth), and relate to the context of commerce, agriculture, and health.Â
- Design, build, and create entrepreneurship and job readiness content to be used in trainings with the primary target group (youth), and relate to the context of commerce, agriculture, and health.
- Ensure that all developed training material addresses the education and knowledge level of the target group, and will be delivered in an interactive, and interesting approach.Â
- Design, build, and create practical case studies from the agro-business and health sector that shall be included in the training deliveries to the youth
- Plan, organize, and conduct trainings for other trainers (accelerators) and ensure that all trainers are learning in a safe and productive environment.
- Ensure that locally relevant themes, issues, and examples will be addressed and involved in all training, and education components.
- Maintain training documents that track progress and file all documents in an appropriate manner for required purposes.
- Evaluate and track overall training progress.
- Organize community partnership activities and implementation working groups meetings.
- Coordinate with collaborating INGO colleagues on the development and content of training material, and contemporary teaching methodologies
- Participate in domestic and international education eventsÂ
Organization, Reporting, and Administration
- Prepare reports, memos, letters, reviews, and other documents related to the project.Â
- Draft project reports for internal and external purposes
- Resource and budget planning and management
- Travel organisation and planning
Job Requirements |
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education requirement: BSc. Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management, Agri-business Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work with target groups ranging between the age of 15 – 30 years
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including in cross-cultural settings.
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Ability to independently plan, organize and multi-task to carry out our work assignments.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, prepare, and present statistical reports to audiences at different levels in a professional and comprehensive manner Â
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper compositional practices to aid in writing and proofreading of project documents.
- Advanced level fluency in both English and Swahili.
- Willingness to travel domestically to other project sites, Dar Es Salaam, and occasionally internationally.
