A holder of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with five passes including “D” pass in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Basic Mathematics and English Language.

Doctor of Medicine
- Direct Applicants: Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum of 6 points: A minimum of D grade in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
- Equivalent Applicants: Diploma in Clinical Medicine with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English at O-Level.
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Direct Applicants: Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum of 6 points: A minimum of C grade in Chemistry and D grade in Biology and at least E grade in Physics.
- Equivalent Applicants: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English at O-Level.
Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging And Radiotherapy
- Equivalent Applicants: Diploma in Medical Imaging or Radiography with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English at O-Level.
- Direct Applicants: Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum of 6 points: A minimum of D grade in Chemistry and D grade in Biology and at least D grade in Physics.
Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B. Pharm).
- Equivalent Applicants: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English at O-Level.
- Direct Applicants: Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum of 6 points: A minimum of D grade in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Equivalent Applicants: Diploma in Nursing with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English at O-Level.
- Direct Applicants: Three principal passes in Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Advanced Mathematics or Nutrition with a minimum of 6 points: A minimum of C grade in Chemistry and D grade in Biology and at least E grade in Physics or Advanced Mathematics or Nutrition.

Minimum Entry Requirement into Master of Medicine (MMED)
- Must have received a B or higher on his/her undergraduate final examinations in the specialty in which he/she wishes to specialize.
- Must have at least one year of experience as a medical practitioner in a recognized hospital.
- Must have successfully completed an internship and received a B or higher in the specialty he/she wishes to study.
- An MD degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning
CUHAS-Bugando History: As a Constituent University College of SAUT, CUHAS-Bugando started operating in September 2003. On March 28, 2002, it received a Certificate of Interim Authority (CIA), and on March 27, 2003, it received a Certificate of Provisional Registration (CPR).
The Tanzania Commission of Universities granted the College full registration status in 2005, at which point it was properly founded (TCU). A request by SAUT to convert the College into a full-fledged university was approved by the Commission during its 53rd meeting, and CUHAS-Bugando was given a Certificate of Full Registration.

When it first began, It was always envisioned that it would be organized into faculties, institutes, and directorates. After the decision to enter the school mode, the Weill Bugando School of Medicine, which replaced the Faculty of Medicine, a School of Pharmacy, the Archbishop Anthony Mayala School of Nursing, and a School of Public Health were all founded in 2009/2010.
The new schools accepted their first pupils in the academic year 2010-2011. The Institute of Allied Health Sciences was established by the Bugando University of Health Sciences in 2006-2007.
