Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency was established under the Executive Agency Act Cap 245 (Revised Edition; R.E 2009) and published in the government gazette of the United Republic of Tanzania in March 09th 2012. With effect from the date of publication, the Order establishing the Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency (TVLA) as an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development (MLFD) in accordance with the provisions of the Executive Agencies Act, came into force and took over the functions of Central Veterinary Laboratory (CVL), Veterinary Investigation Centre (VICs), Tsetse and Trypanosomosis Research Institute (TTRI) and Tsetse and Trypanosomosis Research Centre (TTRC) as well as other functions expressed in this Framework Document.

JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To conduct research on animal diseases;
ii. To keep records of research findings on animal diseases;
iii. To undertake diagnostic test for various animal diseases;
iv. To provide input in developing research proposals;
v. To collect and analyse data of ongoing research projects; and
vi. To train laboratory technicians on laboratory management techniques;
Qualification and Experience
• Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields, Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. The candidate must be registered by the Veterinary Council of Tanzania.
