Job Description
- Oversee the daily tracking of vehicles for the entire MeTL Group;
- Ensure that all tracking information is accurate and up-to-date;
- Resolve any issues in a timely manner;
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time loading and offloading, breakdown recoveries, and trip turnover (completed trips per given period);
- Collaborate with other departments to improve tracking processes and procedures;
- Providing regular reports to management on tracking performance.
- Accessing the Tracking System platform and identifying trucks that will pass through or offload and/or load in their area. (Geo-fencing to be utilized for streamlining the tracking per area);
- Liaising with Operations Managers/Supervisors regarding truck movement and agreed on TATs;
- Physically visiting the trucks and inspecting trucks for any deviations that require immediate attention and report also the other deviations which are not an emergency so that they can be diarised for resolution;
- Liaising with workshop teams regarding any breakdowns and coordinating the recovery to ensure the downtime is kept to a minimum at minimum costs;
- Checking cargo and reporting any unauthorized cargo;
- Collecting documents and sending them to respective offices in a timely manner;
- Report any deviations in a timely manner, including any road or traffic situation that impacts TAT, and follow up for resolutions;
- Reporting any malfunctioning tracking devices immediately to the tracking support team and follow-up for resolution;
- Attend to accidents in the area of operation and help find quick solutions;
- Attend to any driver issues;
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies for swift services;
- Prepare daily reports on truck movement in the area;
- Any other duties assigned by the management.
