JOB PURPOSE;
Ajira cherry Garments The position of the General Manager (GM) is responsible in managing the entire factory operations (single or multiple factories) including importing and purchase of personal protective gears (PPE) and ensure that business is running profitably. The General Manager will drive key metrics including pricing performances, delivery performances and inventory performances. He /she will develop marketplace opportunities, lead sales pursuits, oversee internal processes, and provide global leadership in the achievement of common goals. In this role, strong partnership with key customers and supplier is critical.
Main Responsibilities
Product availability and quality
- Ensure and be responsible for quality function through the entire manufacturing process including incoming, in the process, section-wise, finished goods inspection and testing
- Maintains and improves product and operation quality by monitoring product requirement, SOP compliance and technical support for the factory.
- Develop and analyse statistical data and product specification to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
- Develop and maintain quality assurance and control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with the production department and others supporting departments
- Continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities in order to sustain the most cost-effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirement and making a recommendation for improvement as appropriate for Garments factory
- Understanding of industry trends (safety standards, change of technology, etc.), competitive strategies and product technologies, development of new line of business
- Ensure that Personal protective Equipment are timely ordered (optimally Purchased) to meet customer’s demand and maintain buffer stock
- Comply, Drive and maintain ISO and other quality system and regulatory certification
Sales and Marketing
- Drive sales growth on defined area, maximize sales volume and increase market penetration
- Establish strong strategic partnership with Distributors/Suppliers and End users
- Lead growth initiatives that maintain or achieve a leading position in each vertical and geographical market with an appropriate product, pricing, and channel strategy
- Ensure cross-functional coordination between sales, marketing, and supply chain for the business to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue commitments
- Defining and delivering the vision and strategic plan to guide PPE and Garments manufacturing business in Tanzania/Africa
Lead and manage people
- Lead all people -related strategies to include fostering effective teams and employee engagement, leading succession and talent development, raising the bar for ongoing superior performance
- Develop a plan, promote, facilitate and organizes training activities for respective person related to product quality and reliability.
- Set Objectives through Key Performance Indicators (KPI) so as to measure employees performances
Finance and Inventory Control
- Ensure that all financial regulations and policies are followed up Ensure that financial statements are prepared.
- Ensure that material Requirement Planning system is in place (MRP)
- Ensure that warehouse is properly managed
- Prepare short term and long-term budgets
- Ensure that risks are mitigated
- Ensure there is saving through effective procurement and panning
Communication, maintenance of company image
- Communicate on behalf of the company to outsiders
- Develop plans for community give back (Corporate Social Responsibility)
- Maintain company’s good image in media houses
Qualifications
- Must have Masters/Graduate from a reputable University. Individual with MBA will be given priority
- Must have 10-15 Years of Experience in any Reputed Manufacturing Company especially in
Garments Sector or Safety Equipment’
- Should have excellent speaking and writing skills in English
- Must be proficient in computer applications
