The Diploma in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology – Dip (MEMG) aims to address the shortage of professionally trained middle level man power in the mining industry in Tanzania.

The programme takes two years. In the first year, students will receive training in basic sciences, computer applications required by the industry, communication skills, fundamentals in geology and four weeks field geological studies and mapping. The highlights of the second year include professional courses, industrial practical training and project work. The methods of learning involve class room sessions, tutorials, practical, fieldwork, surveying, project work, related to the field of specialization required.
Entry requirements for Diploma In Mineral Exploration And Mining Geology
Direct entry qualifications
- One Principal in one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and a Subsidiary pass in any of the mentioned subjects in A’ Level. OR
- Two subsidiaries in A’ Level in the subjects listed above and a credit in O’ level Mathematics or Physics OR
- NTA level 5 certificate or Professional Technician Level II Certificate in a related programme from the University of Dodoma or any relevant institution with minimum pass of “B”.
