Clearing Officer at Standard Chartered
The role holder is accountable for co-owning and delivering the end-to-end, best-in-class servicing client journey for Tanzania. The role holder is expected to align the client journey objectives to CPBB strategic agenda and responsible for identifying and creating areas of competitive advantage in the servicing domain, including change delivery within the domain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
Co-ordinate Clearing and Posting & Validation operations for the bank.
Represent the bank in decision making in the Tanzania Automated Clearing House and relevant committee meetings.
Co-ordinate operational risks for the bank as it affects Clearing and Posting & Validation unit.
Contribute to customer satisfaction and service quality as per established standard.
Uphold the bank’s Global image and integrity.
Business
Prioritize tasks and resources to maximise efficiency and cost.
Thorough understanding of the Banks products and customer mandates
Support businesses in the launching of new products,
Processes
To post duly authorised credit and debit entries in Ebbs system pertaining to internal transactions and entries involving customer instructions.
Ordering/Issuance/activating of cheques
Perform account reconciliation
Prepare daily excess reports
Maker for Intraday Clearing
People & Talent
Strong inter-personal and leadership skills to manage customers effectively.
Provide input / feedback / ideas in order to make improvement to processes and procedures within Clearing and Posting & Validation processing unit
Risk Management
Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing Clearing and Posting & Validation processes and seek for ways of mitigating risks.
Governance
Proactively alerting compliance issues, implementing departmental operating instructions to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements and coordinate in regulatory inspections.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
