Direct Entry Scheme

1. Applicants under direct entry scheme must fulfil the following requirements: Must be form four graduate with at least three (3) credit passes in certificate of secondary education examination in relevant subjects according to specific programme.
2. The applicant must have at least two principal level passes and one subsidiary level pass in the advanced level certificate of secondary education examination, provided that the total number of points is at least 4.5 in the scale where A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1; and S=0.5

Equivalent Qualifications Entry Scheme

1. Applicant with equivalent qualification and wish to join Mzumbe university must meet the following requirements before they can be selected: He/she must be the holder of an appropriate Diploma from an accredited Institution of not less than second class level from a registered institution. OR
2. Must have a certificate from Mzumbe University of at least second class level after completing form VI with at least one principle level pass and at least 3.5 points in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education.

General Admission and Registration Requirements for the Postgraduate Degrees Programmes

1. A candidate for admission to the master’s degree must have a second class bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, or a second class advanced diploma or equivalent qualifications obtained after at least three (3) years of study, or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA (T), MD, CSP, MCIPS, or their equivalent from recognized professional bodies or institutions.
2. A applicant with a PASS degree will also be considered if they can demonstrate that they have acquired an examined postgraduate or professional qualification.
3. A candidate with undeclared degrees should have a credit average of B or above.
4. A candidate holding a degree whose classification is not easily distinguishable by the University shall be required to have his or her qualifications clarified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) before being considered for an admission.
