What is Sassa R350 Grant means!
The government of South Africa continues to offer the SASSA Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD 350), a grant of R350 per month for six months to be paid to people who are currently unemployed and do not receive any form of income, social grant, UIF payment, etc. This includes both Refugees and Asylum Seeker permit holders.
The SRD grant’s income cutoff was increased by the DSD from R350 to R624. However, this does not necessarily mean that grant applicants will receive more money. The SRD grant will continue to be worth R350. The income threshold is the maximum amount that a potential recipient of the SRD grant may have in their bank account.
