Job Summary
The Senior Business Development Officer will drive business growth by cultivating strategic relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. This role focuses on expanding market presence through proactive B2B engagement and maintaining strong client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales Execution:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and client meetings.
- Negotiate and close deals to meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets.
- Prepare tailored presentations, proposals, and quotations for clients.
- Upsell company products/services to existing clients to maximize revenue.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain regular contact with clients to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Keep clients informed about company updates, new products, and service enhancements.
- Track and promptly address client inquiries, requests, and feedback.
- Sales Administration & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline updates.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to management.
- Monitor debtor accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
- Market Insight & Strategy:
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with business objectives.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in sales, marketing, or business development (B2B experience preferred).
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Attributes:
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and customer-focused.
- Knowledge of local and regional B2B markets.
