As the Twitter migration continues, you’ll almost certainly get new Threads followers. And with it comes an incessant buzz on your phone whenever you gain a new follower on the app.
But, truly, never-ending push notifications are not the vibe. Furthermore, Threads will not allow you to remove your account until you also delete Instagram. So, if you need a break from the alerts, here’s how to do it.

If you want something more permanent, you can choose to hide specific notifications indefinitely. Notifications for likes, responses, mentions, reposts, quotes, and first threads can be disabled as like Instagram.

If you don’t want to be notified whenever someone starts following you (which is happening a lot right now! ), go to the “Following and followers” page and turn off notifications there. Stop receiving notifications when new followers, accepted follow requests, account suggestions, and pre-followed persons join Threads.
