Have you opted to immerse yourself in the hellscape of yet another social networking platform? Because of the internet, you’ll need to know how to hide replies.
On Thursday, Meta debuted Threads, a Twitter competitor that allows users to post threaded text updates that may be liked, shared, and commented to (much like Twitter).
The software is still in its early stages, but it is a social networking app (and, according to Mark Zuckerberg, a rapidly developing one), so it’s only a matter of time until the trolls appear. When they do, it’s important to know how to defend yourself.
Hatua za kuzuia Reply kwenye Threads
If you’ve started a Thread but want some control over the replies, you can change your Settings to do so. Also read Jinsi ya Kuzuia Notification Threads.
Hatua ya 1: Open “Setttings”
- To begin, go to your Threads profile page and tap the Settings icon (the two little horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
Hatua ya 2: Tap “Privacy”.
- It’s located halfway down the Settings page.
Hatua ya 3: Tap “Hidden words”.
- The Privacy page contains a wealth of useful options, such as muting accounts and making your own account private rather than public. The one you want to tap on now, though, is labeled “Hidden words.”
Hatua ya 4: Manage custom words
Finally, go down and turn “Custom words and phrases” to On before selecting “Manage custom words and phrases.” Simply put the words you don’t want to see in the box on the following page, separated by a comma.
It’s worth mentioning that, while handy, this feature isn’t new. Since 2021, Instagram users have been able to identify “Hidden words” in their privacy settings, and Twitter also provides advanced muting options.
Instagram is a photo and video sharing social networking service owned by American company Meta Platforms. The app allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters, be organized by hashtags, and be associated with a location — via geographical tagging.
