Job Overview
CPP Tanzania seeks a qualified, dynamic, and passionate Tanzanian to fill the role of HSE Supervisor, supporting the construction of a large cross-country crude oil pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections, reporting non-compliance to site management. Support staff to ensure timely completion of the pipeline, associated facilities, and infrastructure.
Identify and address potential risks and hazards, implementing corrective measures. Provide on-the-job training and coaching to local personnel, ensuring compliance with training requirements. HSE Supervisor at China Petroleum Pipeline March 2024
Conduct drug and alcohol testing programs according to company standards. Promote and enforce safe work practices on and off project sites. Mentor and communicate principles of ‘Life’ and Zero Harm philosophy. Engage project leadership and staff in understanding HSE roles and responsibilities.
Liaise with project teams to ensure cross-functional coordination and compliance with HSE management systems. Review and ensure compliance with HSE procedures, processes, and documentation. Undertake other duties as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science.
- Certification in NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in health and safety and Environmental Quality Management Systems.

- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in risk assessment, accident investigation, and report writing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze HSE metrics.
- Familiarity with safety policies, procedures, and toolbox talks.
- Ability to handle emergencies effectively.
Skills & Experience Required
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field.
- Certification in relevant occupational health and safety courses.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience in oil and gas or construction projects preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and accident investigation.
- Ability to handle emergencies and report writing.
- Attention to detail and computer literacy.
