BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Bsc-IS degree programme is aimed at training those who aspire to become professionals in designing, bulding and managing computer-based infomation systems.
What and how will you learn?
Students learn all the core technology areas including Programming, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems (OS), Data Communication, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Applications and Project Management. Learning shall be through lectures, seminars, industrial training and internships.
Entry requirements
Direct entry qualifications
Two principal passes in Advanced Mathematics and one of the following subjects: Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Accountancy or Commerce.
Equivalent entry qualifications
Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Careers
Graduates of this programme are suitable for a wide variety of IS and IT careers. Most of them work for government and private institutions as programme analysts, system administrator, programmer, system analyst, information systems managers, etc.
