The first community development project in Bangladesh was launched in 1992 and currently Good Neighbors is working in 192 communities in 40 countries with our focus on inclusive community development approach and child protection.
In 1994, Good Neighbors implemented its first emergency response project in Rwandan refugee situation, providing medical relief teams and establishing two schools at the refugee camps. Starting with Rwanda emergency response, Good Neighbors has been actively responding various disaster and emergencies including Kobe earthquake in 1995, South Asia tsunami in 2004, Haiti earthquake 2010, Typhoon Haiyan in 2013 and Nepal Earthquake in 2015.
Good Neighbors has attained General consultative status with United Nations Economic and Social council (UN ECOSOC) in 1996. In recognition of valuable efforts in providing universal primary education over the world, Good Neighbors was awarded the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Award by International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) in 2007. BACKGROUND:
SRE project is a 3 years project aiming to improve the education environment through radio education broadcasting in Zanzibar. This project focuses on expanding the learning opportunities of secondary school students by producing and transmitting high-quality radio educational broadcasts to solve the problem of ‘decreased academic ability’ presented as a core secondary education problem.
This project focuses on expanding the learning opportunities of middle school students by producing and transmitting high-quality radio educational broadcasts.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Good Neighbors Tanzania-Zanzibar Area Office is working with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoEVT) in Zanzibar to implement a three-year (2021-2024) KOICA-funded project, “Strengthening the capacity of secondary school education through radio educational broadcasting
” (SRE) project. The overall goal of the project is to enhance the quality of secondary school education through Radio Secondary School students.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To conduct finance and administrative issues to implement the project
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Preparing Bank payments
-Filing finance documents
-Accounts and Quick book.
-Retrieving attendance for SRE Staff from Attendance machinery monthly and preparing payroll and statutory
-Control overall Rental cars requirements such as fuel issue, driver payments, maintenance etc.
-Follow up permits for international staff
-Prepare in/external audit for monitoring project
-Control overall financial payment and administrative issues such as office environment, item purchasing, inventory management, and managing Vendor contract
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
-A Major in accounting
-Above than bachelor’s degree in Official educational institution
-Minimum _____1_____ years relevant work experience
-Strong collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
-Exceptional time, task, and resource management skills
-Strong problem critical thinking, fast calculation
-Ability to use Microsoft and accounting systems
