BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED GEOLOGY
This is a three year programme specially designed to produce highly qualified professionals in the field of applied geology.
What and how will you learn?
The programme focuses on knowledge and skills in areas such as geophysics, geochemistry, crystallography, mineralogy, structural geology, stratigraphy, paleontology, remote sensing and geographical information systems (GIS). Learning shall be through lectures, seminars, industrial training and internships.
Entry requirements
Direct entry qualifications
Two principal passes in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Geography. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Physics and Chemistry at O-level.
Equivalent entry qualifications
Diploma in Petroleum, Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Geology, Oil and Gas Engineering or Mineral Exploration with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, the applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in any two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry at O-Level.
