The Tanzania Technical and Electrical Agency (TEMESA) is a Public Institution established by the Government Agency Act Chapter 245. Its main responsibilities are to provide Vehicle and Mechanical Maintenance Services, Electrical Services including repairing Road Lights , Repairing Refrigerators, Air Conditioners and Repairing IT Systems and Electronic Equipment, providing Ferry Services and Consulting Services.
The Chief Executive of the Tanzania Technical and Electrical Agency (TEMESA), in order to ensure that the duties of the Agency are carried out, announces temporary job vacancies as follows:
1. ENGINEER CLASS II (VEHICLE ELECTRICAL) – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
- He has graduated from the sixth form and completed a two-year technical training in the field of Automotive/Mechanical Electrical Engineering from a college recognized by the Government, or
- He has graduated from the fourth form and completed a three-year course in the field of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a college recognized by the Government, or
- He should have a fourth form education and a Certificate of Trade Test I (Trade Test I) or “Level III” or “Certificate Three” in the field of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a college recognized by the Government or
- He should have a fourth form education and an Ordinary Diploma in the field of Automotive/Mechanical Electrical Engineering from a college recognized by the Government
- Be capable and experienced in using machines for the diagnosis of car diseases in the area of car electricity
(b) Responsibilities
- Investigating and identifying problems with electrical and electronic systems in cars/machines and solving them.
- To carry out maintenance of electrical/electronic devices on cars/machines
- Investigating, determining, preparing costs and fixing electrical problems in cars using diagnostic machines in the area of car electronics
- To ensure the safety of employees and property during all operations
- Storing and taking care of the equipment he works with.
- To ensure the equipment of the garage and its environment is clean at all times.

2. CLASS II ARCHITECT (MECHANICAL/VEHICLES) – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
- He/she has graduated from the sixth form and qualified for a two-year technical training in the field of Automotive/Mechanical engineering from a college recognized by the Government, or
- Must have graduated form four and completed a three-year course in the field of Automotive/Mechanical engineering from a college recognized by the Government, or
- He should have a fourth-grade education and a Trade Test I Level (Trade Test I) or “Level III” or “Certificate Three” in the field of Automotive/Mechanical engineering from a college recognized by the Government or
- He should have a fourth form education and an Ordinary Diploma in the field of Automotive/Mechanical engineering from a College recognized by the Government

3. ARCHITECT CLASS II (ELECTRICAL) – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:

- He has graduated from the fourth form and completed a three-year course in the field of electrical engineering from a college recognized by the Government, or

- Repairing electrical equipment

(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
- He should have a fourth form education in science subjects and have completed a one-year study in the field of Automotive Electrical Engineering from technical colleges recognized by the Government. or:
- He should have a fourth form education with a level II technical test certificate or “Level II” or “Certificate Two” from a technical college recognized by the Government in the field of Automotive Electricity.
- Be able and experienced in using machines for the diagnosis of car diseases in the area of car electricity
(b) Responsibilities
- To carry out minor and major electrical repairs of vehicles and machinery.

5. ASSISTANT ARCHITECT (MECHANICAL/ AUTOMOBILE) – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
- He should have a fourth form education in science subjects and have completed one year studies in the field of Automotive/Mechanical engineering from technical colleges recognized by the Government. or
- He should have a fourth form education with a Level II technical test certificate or “Level II” or “Certificate Two” from a technical college recognized by the Government in the field of Cars/Mechanics.
- Have the ability and experience to use machines for the diagnosis of car diseases in the car area
(b) Responsibilities
i. To carry out minor and major repairs of vehicles and machinery.
ii. To ensure the safety of employees and property during all operations
iii. Storing and taking care of the equipment he works with.
iv. Ensuring the garage equipment and its surroundings are clean at all times.
v. Investigating, identifying and fixing vehicle problems

6. ASSISTANT ARCHITECT (ELECTRICAL) – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. He should have a fourth form education in science subjects and have completed one year studies in the field of electrical engineering from technical colleges recognized by the Government. or:
ii. He should have a fourth form education with a technical test certificate stage II or “Level II” or “Certificate Two” from a technical college recognized by the Government in the field of Electricity.
iii. Be able and experienced in using diagnostic machines and electrical problems
(b) Responsibilities
i. Making minor and major electrical repairs.
ii. Investigating and identifying problems with electrical systems and solving them.
iii. Doing maintenance of electrical equipment

7. ASSISTANT SUPPLY OFFICER – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. Employed with a Diploma in Procurement/Supply or a business established in Procurement and Supply, from a College recognized by the Government, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board in the country (PSPTB) .
ii. Be registered with PSPTB as Procurement and Supplies Technician” or “Procurement and Supplies Full Technician”
iii. Have computer skills.
(a) Responsibilities
i. Maintaining and organizing the equipment in the warehouse in a clean and safe condition.
ii. To receive the equipment purchased from the bidders.
iii. To receive equipment that has been used but needs to be taken care of before being disposed of in accordance with existing laws, regulations and procedures.
iv. Opening and maintaining a “Bin Card” for each device in the warehouse.
v. To open a ledger (Ledger) that will keep a record of the equipment that enters, is maintained and leaves the warehouse.
vi. Providing equipment to customers and users in accordance with existing procedures.

8. ACCOUNT ASSISTANT GRADE I – POSITION 5
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. Have a Diploma in Accounting from a college recognized by the Government.

(b) Responsibilities

9.IT OFFICER – POSITION 3
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. Have a higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Technology and Information and Communication Technology, Information Systems Management or other training related to this field.
(a) Responsibilities
i. Design, install and configure internal and external computer network infrastructure (Design, install and configure LAN and WAN infrastructure,
ii. Testing network equipment and devices (Test network equipment and devices),
iii. Supervising the implementation of network security guidelines in accordance with the Computer network security guidelines (Implement network security guidelines),
iv. To evaluate and fix any computer network errors (Perform network troubleshooting and repair), and

10. SECRETARY OFFICE MANAGER/ PRIVATE SECRETARY GRADE II –
SPACE 5
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. He must have graduated from the Fourth Form with a Diploma in Mathematics or have an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Mathematics. In addition, they must have passed the Kiswahili and English Abbreviation course 80 words per minute and obtain office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any University recognized by the Government.
(b) Responsibilities

i. Have a diploma of (NTA Level 6) in the field of records, with computer skills from a college recognized by the Government

(b) Responsibilities
i. To list incoming correspondence registers in the register (incoming correspondence register);
ii. Outgoing correspondence register
iii. Distributing files to the organizers (action officers)
iv. To receive files that return to the registry from executives
v. Searching for records/documents/files required by executives;
vi. To return files to the grid/filing cabinets (racks/filing cabinets) or other places where they are stored.
vii. Monitoring the circulation of files within the Institute (file tracking)

12. DRIVER CLASS II – POSITION 5
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. Have a Fourth Form Certificate, Class “E” or “C1” driving license that he has worked for at least one year without causing an accident
ii. He must have attended a basic driving course (Basic Driving Course) provided by the Vocational College (VETA) or another college recognized by the Government. Applicants with a Grade II Technical Test certificate will be considered first.
(b) Responsibilities
i. Checking the car before and after the trip to determine the safety of
car.
ii. Sending employees to different places on business trips.
iii. Doing minor car repairs
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents.
v. To fill in and maintain all travel information in the travel log
vi. Cleaning the car; and
vii. To do other work as directed by his supervisor.
13. FERRY DRIVER CLASS II – POSITION 5
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. He should have a fourth-grade education
ii. He should have the knowledge of operating and maintaining a Ferry certified by the Dar es Salaam Marine Institute or any other college recognized by the Government for a period of not less than two years. (Rating of Navigation Watch/Refresher Rating or “Class Four with COC,”
iii. He should have completed a six-month training in life saving in water, swimming and organizing people and vehicles on ferries (Mandatory courses / Refresher in mandatory courses).
(b) Responsibilities
i. Operate and guide the Ferry;
ii. To give instructions for tying and untying the ferry ropes;
iii. Managing the safety of passengers and cargo inside the Ferry;
iv. Supervising the arrangement of passengers and cargo at the Ferry;
v. To ensure that the ferry engine is in good working condition;
vi. Checking oil and other working tools;
vii. Keeping a register of Ferry trips;
viii. Maintaining important documents of the Ferry;
ix. Managing the discipline and performance of the employees under him;
x. To do other work assigned by his superior.
14. SAILOR – 5TH PLACE
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. Have a Form Four Certificate,
ii. Have the knowledge to maintain a ferry/boat certified by the Dar es Salaam Institute or any college recognized by the Government for a period of not less than two years (Rating Forming Part of Navigation Watch) or “Class Four with COC,”
iii. He should have completed a six-month training in life saving in water/swimming and organizing people and vehicles on ferries/boats (Mandatory Courses).
(b) Responsibilities
i. Tying and untying the ropes of ferries/boats.
ii. To take care of the safety of passengers and vehicles inside ferries/boats.
iii. Arranging passengers and vehicles on the ferry/boat
iv. Keeping a log of ferry/boat trips.
v. To do other work assigned by his superior.
15. DIVERS – 5 POSITIONS
(a) Qualifications of the Applicant:
i. Have a Fourth Form Education
ii. He should have studied the Diving/Rescue course “Diver PADI” and work experience of not less than two (2) year
iii. He should have completed a six-month training in Life Saving and Swimming Courses (the following Mandatory Courses “Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Personal Survival Techniques”) from a Government-recognized College.
(b) Responsibilities:
- Diving, inspecting and regularly cleaning the operating systems of ferries (Pump Jet/Propeller) in the water so that they can work as required to prevent damage;
- Assisting in rescue activities (when there is an accident or property is submerged in water);
- Ensuring that garbage that occurs near the ferry areas and ferry routes is removed to prevent damage to the ferry’s operating systems;
- Inspecting and investigating the shape of the ferry under water and the “Hull bottom area and compartments” of the ferry tanks are checked regularly if they are leaking and all deficiencies are reported for repair;
- v. To do other work assigned by his Head of Work
16. ECONOMICS GRADE II – 1ST PLACE
(a) Qualifications of the Applicant:
i. Bachelor’s degree holder in one of the following fields; Economics, Planning and Project Management, Economics and Finance, Statistics, Economics and Statistics or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.

17. PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER GRADE II – POSITION 1
(a) Qualifications of the applicant:
i. With a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields; Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Public Relations or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.
(b) Responsibilities
- To help facilitate conferences, seminars, celebrations, etc.;
- Assisting in the production of Radio and TV programs;
- Keeping photographic records of major events;
- Maintaining, updating and uploading the Agency’s website in collaboration with an IT specialist;
- Coordinate customer information and complaints in a free way, register and provide information to the Head of the Public Relations Unit;
