The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is an autonomous corporate body established in 2014 in compliance with Section 8 of the Wildlife Conservation Act CAP 283 through Government Notice (GN) No. 135 of May 2014 and its amendment vide GN. No. 20 of 23rd January 2015. The Authority is responsible for administration and sustainable management of wildlife resources and biodiversity outside National Parks and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Open Positions and Description
1. Conservation Ranger II, Wildlife Management Officer, 1 Post
- To plan for the conservation of wildlife;
- To coordinate the identification of needs for wildlife protection and conservation;
- To ensure stakeholder participation while coordinating the creation of a medium-term plan for animal conservation;
- To organize the conservation infrastructure development plan’s execution;
- To communicate with other interested parties regarding the infrastructure development tender;
Qualification:
- Possessing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in one of the following subjects: zoology, wildlife ecology, range management, or wildlife management.
2. Conservation Ranger II Pilot, 1 Post
- To support (co-pilot) the Authority’s aircraft flight services;
- To support the upkeep of flight logbook records;
- To support the documentation and oversight of regular aircraft maintenance services;
- To help ensure compliance with all aviation standards;
- To carry out any additional tasks that the supervisor may occasionally impose;
Qualification:
- ICAQ Commercial Pilot’s License holder with at least 500 flight hours with instrument and type ratings on single or multiengine pistons and turboprops who has successfully finished training at an authorized flying school.
