Warehouse & Logistics Project Lead Career at Kilombero Sugar, Delivering the entire scope of work for the finished goods warehouse in accordance with the established legal framework and national SHERQ requirements will be the responsibility of the chosen candidate, who will serve as the logistics partner to the operational readiness team.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- As the expert and keeper of ABFS and KSC FG Warehouse Standards and Best Practices, provide advice on technical questions posed by the Operational Readiness Team.
- Evaluating the interface needs between the incoming and departing flows and the finished goods warehouse (FGW), making sure that the design and SOPs being used are lean, effective, and operationally feasible. The readiness plan should identify any gaps and contain action items to remedy them.
- Examine the design drawings to make sure that WOLO principles are applied during development in accordance with the established legal framework. Through the Operational Readiness workstream, gaps in the application of WOLO standards should first be evaluated, improvement possibilities should be prioritized and budgeted for, and execution should be planned. accountable for completing the deliverable within the allotted time.
- By working together to design and obtain consensus on the tests based on FSCC22000 standards, support the operational readiness team during performance tests of the completed goods warehouse infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
- In charge of creating SOPs, conducting capability gap and risk assessments, and organizing training needs to guarantee a seamless and secure transition of staff into the new infrastructure and methods of operation.
- Within ABFS/KSC, agree with the project team on the requirements for the racks and forklifts that they must supply. These requirements should include minimum criteria for construction, materials, after-sales support, and functioning.
- Help with WMS UAT training and assist in interpreting the ABFS SAP plan for particular actions related to the WMS deployment in Tanzania. Make sure that these important milestones are in line with those being tracked during the construction of the completed product warehouse.
- Approve the design and keep an eye on the finished product’s warehouse’s compliance with all IT hardware standards.
- Creation and execution of the DILO operational readiness strategy, which includes organizing the necessary training program to upskill all staff members before and after GO Live.
- Prior to designing CCTV and access control systems and procuring all necessary tenant services, coordinate the new finished goods warehouse’s overall design, risk assessment, and security evaluation.
Job Qualification and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
- At least five years of project management experience, specifically in relation to new building or warehouse development
- The capacity to lead and influence others, particularly those outside of official organizational frameworks
- Capacity to bargain with non-affiliated parties under duress
- Capacity to solve technical issues with equipment, security, and operations
- Results-oriented, performance-driven, and robust
- Strong familiarity with ABFS WOLO procedures and guidelines
Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a fixed-term contract.
