GENERAL MANAGER (local or foreign) Reference GM02
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations functions of the hotel and coordinate day-to-day management of all hotel departments,
- Ensure compliance with hotel controls, policies, and procedures and regular reporting to Managing Director,
- Carry out key hotel administrative tasks, including financial reporting, – Manage guest relations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position, and minimum 2 years occupying such position in Zanzibar,
- Degree in hotel management or related field attested by diploma, – Proficiency in English and Swahili
CHEF (local/Tanzanian), Reference CH03
Responsibilities:
- Plan, oversee, and direct the food preparation process,
- Determine food inventory needs, stocking, and sourcing,
- Ensure quality control in executing menus and recipes as per the restaurant’s guidelines and standards,
- Managing and coaching junior kitchen and customer-facing staff,
- Maintain records and report on food cost, quality, and service goals.
Qualifications:
- Degree in culinary arts or related field as attested by diploma,
- 5+ years experience as head chef or executive chef, and minimum 2 years occupying such position in Zanzibar,
- Excellent knowledge of international fusion cuisine and techniques,
- Proficiency in English and Swahili
ASSISTANT CHEF (local/Tanzanian), Reference AC04
Responsibilities:
- Execute the food preparation process,
- Assist the head chef in stocking and sourcing,
- Ensure quality control in executing menus and recipes as per the restaurant’s guidelines and standards,
Qualifications:
- Degree in culinary arts or related field as attested by diploma,
- 3+ years experience in a similar role, and minimum 1 year occupying such position in Zanzibar,
- Excellent knowledge of international fusion cuisine and techniques,
- Proficiency in English and Swahili
BARTENDER (local/Tanzanian), Reference BT05
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a smooth and speedy bar operation including high quality service
- Taking inventory and ordering supplies
- Interacting with customers, making recommendations and executing drink orders
Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience as a bartender in a busy restaurant/bar
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
- Well organised and multi-tasker
- Bartender/mixology training a plus
- Proficiency in English and Swahili
WAITER/WAITRESS (local/Tanzanian), Reference WW06
Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent greet and wait service to ensure customer satisfaction,
- Making menu recommendations, answering questions regarding existing menu items, and communicating between kitchen, bar, and customers, –      Preparing, serving, and clearing tables.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years proven work experience as waiter/waitress,
- Experience with cash register and POS, including basic math skills,
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Experience working in restaurant serving international customers
- Proficiency in English and Swahili
