U.S. Embassy Vacancies February 2024, Jobs, The Embassy of the United States of America in Dar es Salaam (Swahili: Ubalozi wa Marekani) is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Tanzania. On 7 August 1998, this embassy, along with the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, was the target of a bomb attack perpetrated by al-Qaeda. The bomb attack in Dar es Salaam killed 11 people.
The new embassy compound was opened on March 4, 2003 in Dar es Salaam. The embassy is a twenty-two acre compound that houses two main structures; the Chancery and the USAID Building.[2] The current ambassador is Alfonso E. Lenhardt.
1. Plumbing Maintenance Worker

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of building plumbing and mechanical systems and utility treatment operations is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Competence in:
- Maintenance and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems, fixtures, water treatment, potable water and wastewater treatment plant, swimming pools, fire sprinkler systems including sensors, alarms, building automation systems, hydronic systems, and water heaters.
- Minor component replacement of motors, valves, pumps, controls and recording instruments.
- Testing procedures in control devices to monitor, diagnose faults, determine current operating capacity to the design requirements, all in accordance with U.S. and host country regulations.
- Reading and working from engineering drawings, specifications and material list
Education Requirements:Completion of Secondary School is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in plumbing principles and application is required.Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
English level II (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
Swahili level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
2. Maintenance Inspector (Quality and Safety Inspector)
The Quality and Safety Inspector serves as the Facilities (FAC) section inspector for work on government owned (GO) and Operating Leased (OL) residences. They also assist the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO) their A/POSHO in carrying out the day-to-day functions of the Safety Health and Environmental Management (SHEM), and Fire Protection Division (FIR) programs within residences as required by 15 FAM 900 and 15 FAM 800; assures that all GO and leased property in country meet the requirements of 15 FAM 253.5, 15 FAM 432, 15 FAM 840, and 15 FAM 950, as well as other related Departmental requirements which may exist.
Serves as Supervising Real Property Safety Inspector by verifying and ensuring that Operating Leases and Government Owned housing units are following all Embassy Housing, Residential Building, Security, and Construction Codes. Performs Engineering/Architectural inspections of OL and GO properties such as apartments, offices, warehouses, workshops, hangars, residences etc., including remodeling projects, construction work, and upgrades. Performs inspections on all Make-Ready work performed by Landlords (LL) and follows the Make-Ready inspection checklist to ensure work is being done according to industry standard quality and safety. The Quality and Safety Inspector will inspect work performed by LL technicians on routine work orders and unscheduled work orders to ensure quality and safety of the housing pool residences.
