Supply Chain Officer (Warehouse Management) at Danish Refugee Council Established in 1956, Is a non-governmental, humanitarian, and non-profit organization that offers direct aid to internally displaced people (IDPs), refugees, and host communities in over 40 countries worldwide. Since the start of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015, the DRC has been carrying out emergency response initiatives in Tanzania in three camps for refugees in the Kigoma Region near the Burundian border. Sectors including Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection (CBP, PSN, GBV, CP, and Legal), Shelter and Infrastructure, and Economic Recovery are all part of DRC’s integrated projects for refugees, asylum seekers, and host communities.
Overall purpose of the role
Daily administration of the warehouse. to guarantee that the supply chain operates smoothly in order to fulfill program requirements while adhering to donor, government, and DRC Operations Handbook policies.

Main responsibilities
Warehouse Management
- Ensuring complete adherence to inventory and warehouse management regulations.
- Obtaining, storing, and shipping items in accordance with DRC warehouse management guidelines.
- Ensuring that all warehouse locations follow safety and security regulations.
- Oversee the cleaning of the warehouse and keep everything neat and orderly every day.
- To coordinate the appropriate storage space, loaders, and paperwork before the products arrive, working together with procurement colleagues to collect any incoming commodities.
- Carrying out physical inventory checks on a monthly or regular basis in accordance with donor and DRC criteria.
- Oversee warehouses and the general storage of goods and warehouse infrastructure.
- Share warehouse stock reports with the Logistics and Supply Chain Team Leader on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Give prompt notice of anything that should be thrown away, such as unused or outdated goods (damaged, expired, etc.).
- coordinating the delivery of different items and services to numerous places and following up on deliveries with other warehouse coworkers.
- Coordinating and arranging in advance for the shipment of goods from one place to another.
- Follow up on obtaining camp entrance permits for the refugee camps in Nyarugusu and Nduta. For prompt camp entrance permits, this entails coordinating with the government authority, DRC sector leads, and other supply chain partners.
- Submitting incident reports on time on warehouse operations or goods kept there in the event that any irregularities are noticed.
- Giving supply chain employees in charge of asset management information in the event that any new equipment or assets are acquired and need to be delivered, stored, or received.
- Following the DRC filling SOP to properly secure any warehouse documents.
- In the event of an audit, assist the supply chain team leader in providing accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Adhere strictly to the DRC code of behavior.
- To carry out additional tasks as needed.
Representation
- When it comes to the supply chain, cultivate and preserve solid relationships with external stakeholders. This comprises UNHCR, its logistics partner, suppliers, and pertinent governmental entities.
Essential Experience
- Three years or more of expertise in humanitarian supply chain operations
- Understanding supply chain management, with a focus on logistics
- Familiarity with important donor regulations and compliance protocols, such as those of UNHCR, DANIDA, etc.
- Knowledge of DRC Dynamics or a comparable ERP system
- Complete professional fluency in Kiswahili and English
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
