Job Purpose:

Ensure all activities and responsibilities are executed in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Markets, Treasury, and Credit Risk policies, frameworks, and standards.

Duties and responsibilities

Policy Development & Oversight

  • Oversee the creation, upkeep, and application of frameworks and policies pertaining to liquidity, capital, markets, and credit risk.
  • To guarantee compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, offer direction and suggestions for improvements.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor the performance of the bank’s credit portfolio, investment portfolios, important treasury ratios and constraints, and daily treasury operations.
  • Create and distribute regular reports with actionable recommendations on credit and market risks based on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Examine and confirm that regulatory reports pertaining to credit, liquidity, and market risks are accurate and submitted on time.

Credit Risk Management

  • Perform credit evaluations on a monthly and quarterly basis that address KRIs, RCSA, credit administration, paperwork, and recovery.
  • As necessary, escalate exceptions to ensure adherence to the Credit Policy’s Single Obligor Limits (SOL), Aggregate Exposure Limits, restructuring requirements, and Delegated Approval Limits (DLAs).
  • Prior to final approval, review and suggest treasury and credit proposals to the appropriate committees.

Market Risk Oversight

  • Examine market risk indicators, such as changes in profit and loss (P&L) and reconciliation inconsistencies, and address exceptions as soon as possible.
  • Keep an eye on daily market exposures against predetermined thresholds and report violations as needed.
  • To find such weaknesses, do stress tests on interest rates, foreign exchange, and liquidity.
  • Verify treasury attestations, including adherence to risk appetite and stress test results.

Treasury Activities

  • For the FX system revaluation, calculate and transmit the daily mean rates.
  • Track and report on the use of counterparty lines, both secured and unsecured, and the collateral that goes with them.
  • Make ensuring that government securities are revalued and marked to market accurately.
  • Keep track of historical databases (such as yields, currency rates, and volatilities) and confirm that market data in treasury software is accurate.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • By conducting risk assessments, take part in important change processes, complicated trade reviews, and new product or company developments.
  • Contribute to models of risk assessment and valuation for different trading goods (e.g., Value at Risk).

General Duties

  • Keep an eye out for booked deals on blotters and report any results.
  • Manage the duties and obligations that the supervisor has given you.

Required Education qualification

A: Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, risk management, econometrics, or economics is required.

B: Required Experience:

  • Three years or more of experience working in banking in roles related to risk and/or treasury.
  • Strong knowledge of market, liquidity, capital, and credit risks; preference is given to those with real-world Treasury and credit expertise.
  • Extensive familiarity with banking products and the dangers involved.
  • Knowledge of the latest and changing regulations and how to convert them into workable risk framework projects.

C: Required knowledge and skills

  • Outstanding presentation and negotiating abilities, especially when interacting with top stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills at every level of the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of macroeconomic developments and the regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and analytical techniques.
