Objectives of the Programme:
The World Health Organization (WHO) Africa region faces significant challenges, particularly concerning HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), and hepatitis B virus (HBV) in Tanzania. Efforts to combat these diseases are traditionally separate but need integration due to their overlapping impact.
Description of Duties:
Support the Ministry of Health in strengthening national capacity for disease control. Act as a focal point in the WHO Country Office for managing disease-related activities. Provide technical support for national strategic plans and coordinate interventions.
Enhance the health information system and facilitate real-time monitoring of epidemiological trends. Participate in resource mobilization and proposal development for grants. Recommend program initiatives and priorities based on identified challenges. Liaise with government counterparts to ensure alignment with international best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Medical degree or Degree in Public Health or related fields.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in public health.
- Skills: Extensive knowledge and experience in HIV, TB, Hepatitis, and STI programming.
- Language Skills: Expert knowledge of English.
Remuneration:
The annual base salary starts at TZS 145,847,000, with mandatory deductions.
