JOB ANNOUNCEMENT (ONE YEAR CONTRACT)
Nafasi 54 Wizara Ya AFYA 2023, The Secretary of the Public Service Employment Secretariat on behalf of the Secretary General Ministry of Health welcomes job applications from Tanzanians with qualifications and ability to fill fifty four (54) positions as specified in this announcement.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH
NURSE CLASS II – 20 POSITIONS
DUTIES
- To perform nursing tasks to serve customers in the community, hospitals and all places where health services are provided;
- Supervise and coordinate all the work of health workers in his place of work; iii. Collecting statistics and preparing information on its work performance;
- Providing services to patients at home;
- Provide counseling;
- Providing preventive and contraceptive services;
- Providing maternity and child health services;
- Educating patients and the community about their health problems;
- Monitor the maintenance of work tools in its work areas; and
- To do other work assigned by his superior related to his education, experience and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Nafasi 54 Wizara Ya AFYA 2023;- Employed with a two-year Nursing certificate from a College recognized by the Government and enrolled (Enrolled) by the Council of Nurses and Midwives in Tanzania.
SALARY: Based on the Government standards ie the TGHS A Salary level
ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER GRADE II – 25 POSITIONS
DUTIES
- Providing nursing services;
- Collecting important health statistics;
- Directing the work of the nurses under him;
- Educating patients and the community about their health problems;
- Providing preventive and reproductive services; and
- To do other work assigned by his superior.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Nafasi 54 Wizara Ya AFYA 2023: Recruiting graduates of the fourth/sixth form with a Diploma in Nursing, of a minimum duration of two years from a College recognized by the Government, registered with the Council of Nurses and Midwives in Tanzania.
SALARY: Based on the Government standards ie the TGHS B Salary level.
PHYSICIAN/DENTIST GRADE II – 6 POSITIONS
DUTIES
- All the work done by the Physician Assistant;
- Diagnosing and treating common diseases;
- Supervising the performance of employees under him and performing minor surgeries;
- Participating in planning and implementing Primary Health Services;
- Advising and motivating citizens to contribute to the Health Services of the Community Health Fund;
- Keeping records of equipment and tools to provide services; (vii) Keeping records, preparing and issuing implementation information; and (viii) To perform other tasks assigned to him by his superior.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

STATISTICIAN GRADE II – 3rd PLACE
DUTIES
- Designing and developing a National system for collecting and coordinating statistics;
- Developing a procedure for collecting data as well as for taking data from “sampling” examples; and
- Collect, analyze and present high-level statistics.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Employed with a first degree in the field of Statistics or Mathematics or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized by the Government and with the skills to use “information communication technology” (ICT).
