About the program
Deloitte Tanzania has been awarded a contract to implement the USAID Afya Yangu Southern Program. This is a five year project (November 9, 2021 to September 30, 2026) funded by the American People through USAID aiming at supporting the Government of Tanzania’s (GOT) Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) and the President’s Office- Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) at the central level and in target Mainland regions to deliver high quality integrated HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment services that will improve health outcomes, particularly for youth and children. The program intends to increase the demand for and use of quality integrated HIV and Tuberculosis services in Iringa, Lindi, Morogoro, Mtwara, Njombe, and Ruvuma regions by improving access to quality services in both facilities and the surrounding communities, promoting positive health seeking behaviors among Tanzania’s population, and enhancing the overall policy environment for HIV & TB service delivery.

Main purpose of the job
Support the smooth implementation of grants and finance activities.
Job Description
Grants Duties
- Review fund requests from grantees and make sure that they are within the agreed budget and aligned with the policies;
- Review accountabilities after funds disbursement and retirement by the grantee and check that activities were carried out as per the approved budget;
- Prepare payrolls for grantees and review statutory deductions making sure they are all submitted on time;
- Collect and review the grantee’s bank reconciliations;
- Prepare budgets for trainings and meetings and arrange venues for program activities;
- Ensure all trackers are completed and submitted within agreed deadline.
Finance Duties
- Review and record supplier’s invoices into the system;
- Reconcile vendors’ payments to ensure all payments are made on time;
- Collect and review documents from vendors and submit to the headquarters for further processing;
- Prepare bank files for payment processing;
- Process safari advances for the staff who are assigned to do fieldwork;
- Ensure all payment documents are properly filed and marked paid and posted;
- Review and re-process bank-rejected payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field;
- Knowledge of computer applications;
- Good communication skills; and
- Attentiveness to details.
