HSE Officer Job

Position HSE Officer (2)
Location Mkuranga, Pwani
Experience Minimum of two (2) years in a similar role
Deadline 30th July 2023

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze HSE metrics to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to management.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Stay updated with relevant laws and regulations related to HSE and ensure the company’s compliance.
  • Lead emergency response drills and ensure the availability of appropriate safety equipment.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to assess HSE performance and implement necessary improvements.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management regarding HSE-related matters.
    Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an HSE Officer or a similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Certification in relevant HSE courses will be an added advantage.
