Girls in ICT Hackathon 2024 at TCRA February 2024, Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) is a quasi independent Government body responsible for regulating the Communications and Broadcasting sectors in Tanzania. It was established under the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Act No.12 of 2003 to regulate the electronic communications, and Postal services, and management of the national frequency spectrum in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Authority became operational on 1st November 2003 and effectively took over the functions of the now defunct Tanzania Communications Commission (TTC) and Tanzania Broadcasting Commission (TBC) respectively.
Girls In Ict Hackathon 2024
The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) invites female students enrolled in Tanzanian universities to participate in the upcoming Girls in ICT Hackathon 2024. This competition aims at nurturing innovative ideas and foster leadership in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, specifically emphasising the theme of ” Leadership.”
This initiative offers an inclusive platform for participants to actively engage, showcase their skills, and derive fun while cultivating and enhancing their innovative and creative abilities. Additionally, it serves as a gateway for aspiring individuals to cultivate a career in leadership for the ICT sector.
Participation Criteria:
- Be a female student enrolled in a Tanzanian university.
- Possess basic coding skills, such as using Python and R.
- Age: Between 18 and 24 years.
- Digital club membership will be an added advantage.
