The Community Wildlife Management Area Consortium (CWMAC), Tanzania’s national umbrella organization, is in charge of overseeing all Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Authorized Associations. Since its founding in 2010, the partnership has brought together WMAs from around Tanzania to share resources and knowledge and advocate for legislation that supports community-led conservation efforts. The consortium works to build a more sustainable and just future for Tanzanians and wildlife by forming alliances and collaborations with governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, and other stakeholders.
The goal is to maximize the benefits that all people, regardless of gender, age, or disability, will experience while protecting the rights and welfare of local communities by empowering authorized associations (local communities) to manage wildlife management areas (WMAs) effectively.
For the following position, CWMAC is accepting applications from eligible candidates:
Position: Driver
Reports to: Administrative Assistant
Location: Dar es Salaam
Responsibilities:
The driver will be responsible for:
- Driving in compliance with the Laws and Regulations of road traffic;
- Inspecting the vehicle before and after any route/journey to assess the maintenance or repairs required;
- Ensuring that the vehicle and its equipment (jack, spanner, spare tire, etc.) are available and in good condition;
- To do out small/ordinary auto repairs;
- Keeping a car log book by tracking all journeys and fuel consumption;
- Prepare oil, gasoline, and automobile log book for the car;
- Reporting incidents immediately to the Supervisor and assisting in filing relevant reports with Traffic Police; and
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be required to have, but not be limited to:
- A certificate holder with a Class “C1” or “E” driver’s license who has completed a basic driving course provided by VETA or any other accredited organization.
- A minimum of two years of accident-free driving experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with coworkers and passengers in a professional manner.
- Basic fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Strong time management and attention to detail abilities.
