Bachelor Of Arts In Journalism And Public Relations (BAJP) prepares candidates wishing to pursue academic, professional and research careers in mass media and public relations. Graduates will demonstrate needed knowledge and skills in journalism, mass communication, advertising, and public relations.

Candidates will be able to create, produce, and appreciate media content in the practice of both journalism and public relations at the professional level. Thus, candidates will be equipped with knowledge and skills to enable them expand their working platforms and markets for their works, and become entrepreneurs in online media who are able to create relevant jobs and businesses. The teaching modality will be such that candidates will be engaged in both off and on-campus practical trainings throughout the entire duration of the programme. While on campus, the university media training studios (television, radio and newspaper) will be employed to enhance candidates’ ability of transforming classroom theoretical knowledge. The off-campus practical training sessions to be carried out during the second year of the study will also be integrated into candidates’ continuing assessment.
Entry requirements for Bachelor Of Arts In Journalism And Public Relations
Direct entry qualificationsÂ
Candidates must be holders of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A.C.S.E.E) with at least two principal passes in any Arts subjects. They must have at least four (4) credit passes in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E “O” level) English inclusive.
Equivalent entry qualifications
A candidate must hold a Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Advertising with a minimum GPA of 3.0 from an institution recognized by the University and/or by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
