JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will work with the Senior Accountant to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports which would inform management’s decision-making while ensuring controls have been adhered to.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process reimbursement forms.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledgers.
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
- Maintain digital and physical financial records.
- Perform or assist in the performance of month-end closing.
- Participate in financial audits.
- Perform quarterly stock taking and prepare a report.
- Keeping, recording fixed asset register and all other financial records.
- Assist on preparing of books of accounts and filling statutory returns.
- Supporting budget and forecasting processes.
- Perform all other duties as directed by his or her work supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or any related field.
- Good knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage).
- At least 2 years working experience in a reputable organization.
- CPA/ACCA/CA and audit experience are added advantage.
