Enumerators (35) – LINDI AND DAR ES SALAAM

AKF-Tanzania is part of the AKF-East Africa regional structure that supports programs in Kenya,
Tanzania, and Uganda. In Tanzania, AKF is managing a robust and expanding portfolio of multi sectorial initiatives that includes programs in inclusive economic development, health, nutrition,
early childhood development, education and civil society strengthening.
AKF is looking for 35 qualified Enumerators for Data Collection in Lindi and Dar es Salam
Regions

Nature of Assignment: Specific Task
Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
The enumerators will have the following responsibilities.
- Attend enumerator’s training sessions.
- Conduct interviews in the field using survey instruments and electronic tablets.
- Document issues that arise during fieldwork and communicate them to the supervisor.
- Data entry of collected information using paper based.
- Daily uploading/synchronization of the collected data into Kobo platform
- Engage in feedback session with the field team on day to day for the whole period during
data collection. - Transcription and translation of qualitative data and ensure quality of final qualitative
dataset. - Conduct assessment to learners and classroom observation at school setting.
- Make sure that the digital devices are fully charged, carry out a charger.
- Write field progress reports as per agreed frequencies.

Qualifications & Experience required.
Applicants should meet the following minimum criteria:
- Have At least a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Statistics, IT, Rural development, social
sciences, Education, Economics, Agro-economics, or the equivalent. - Must possess a smartphone that is compatible with digital data collection software (Kobo)
- Deep commitment to AKF core values and ability to model those values in relationships
with colleagues and partners. - Have a solid background in diagnostic and strategic review and the monitoring-evaluation
of education programs. - Have a good working knowledge of the quantitative and qualitative methods used in
evaluation/research. - Have proven experience evaluating donor-funded projects and programs, especially in
Education, Climate resilience, food security, and natural resources management with
international humanitarian and/or development agencies. - Experience in data collection in education settings and working with local communities
and community development organisations (will be an added advantage). - Applicants must be from Lindi and Dar es Salaam Regions
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Have demonstrated competence in data collection using Kobo collect platform.
- Have demonstrated competence in analysis, reporting, and synthesis.
- Commitment to AKF Safeguarding Policies and guidelines.
