Office Location	Kiboko Enterprises Ltd, Dar es salaam
Reporting TO	Finance Manager

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies.
Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency – Time
Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria – Time
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery – Time
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues – Process Compliance
Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others – Compliance
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities – Cost
Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process – Cost
Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements – Compliance
Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available – Process Compliance
Manage products registrations with government authorities eg. TRA, TBS etc
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reporters.
Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stake holders connected with logistics process – Compliance
Ensure products are shipped appropriately to ensure quality of goods during transportation – Compliance
Regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements
Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and change process. Ensure effective logistics implementation takes place relating to the changes
Evaluate transportation cost and other expenses and verify that they are not more than the amount charged to clients, to ensure that a positive account balance is left at the end of every transaction
Keep records of all shipping activities, documenting procedures, guidelines, and changes in procedures for reference purposes

Job Qualifications and Experience, Skills

Bachelor Degree in Logistics & Transport Management, Supply chain Management or Equivalent
2 to 4 years working experience in Logistics will be advantageous
Ability to engage /manage /partner with stakeholders
Africa Experience will be a bonus. Especially East Africa or Tanzania.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Leadership skills
Good customer service skills
Team Work
Attitude
Positive, Assertive, Respect for others, Integrity and Team work Driving Bike is mandatory with valid driving license
