Open Positions and Description
The following roles in Geita Gold Mine, Geita, are open at AUMS Geofields Tanzania. Please read over the following job descriptions, requirements for qualifying, and directions for applying:
1. Cable Bolt Offsider
- Provide support to the Cable Bolt Operator in tasks such as drilling, installation, and grouting of cable holes.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Verify adherence to all HSE guidelines, directives, and regulations.
- Verify the equipment before starting it up.
- Report accidents and dangerous circumstances.
- To reduce downtime, maintain tools and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and follow safety protocols when preparing locations for drilling, installation, and grouting.
- Uphold hygienic standards both within and outside the underground mine.
Essential Requirements:
- Certification in basic first aid.
- A valid driver’s license from Tanzania.
- Completion of secondary school.
- Fundamental knowledge of numbers and fluency in written and spoken English.
2. Underground Shift Supervisor
- Daily coordination of underground mining operations is necessary to accomplish production goals by guaranteeing the best possible use of personnel, equipment, and resources.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day mining activities and make sure safety rules are observed.
- Assure effective resource usage by planning and monitoring daily production levels.
- Have toolbox talks and work planning meetings every day.
- Organize shift workers’ training to guarantee their proficiency and safety.
- Ensure adherence to legal requirements and manage incident reporting.
- Coordinate work with contractors and make sure it does not interfere with mining operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ten years of mechanical hard rock mining experience underground.
- Five years of experience as a supervisor in the mining sector.
- A valid driver’s license from Tanzania.
- Certificate of Senior First Aid.
- Knowledge of explosives, equipment, and mining methods.
3. Offsider (Geita Gold Mine, Geita)
- Assist with the drilling, installation, and grouting of cable holes, and support underground operations.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Verify adherence to all safety guidelines and prestart inspections.
- Make sure the tools are safe to use and functional by conducting routine inspections.
- Reduce equipment failures and increase output.
- Preserve the subterranean mine’s safety and hygiene.
- Help with the goods and equipment pickup and delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Certification in basic first aid.
- A valid driver’s license from Tanzania.
- Completion of secondary school.
- The capacity to adhere to safety regulations and collaborate well with others.
